Blood test results!

Sorry if any of you are freaking out over my last facebook update, since it left a lot to be desired in the way of info. My mom told me that the doctor had called right as we were leaving the house, and I didn't feel like trying to explain everything in a status.

To the results!

All the tests came back normal, with the exception of my white blood cell count. The range of "normal" for a WBC count is between 4.5 and 13, if I remember correctly, and mine weighs in at 3.5. The doctor suggested/has ordered a second full blood count test (or whatever it's called--can you tell I'm not familiar with this form of doctor-speak?), which I was thinking I'd have done tomorrow. I also need to make an appointment with a rheumatologist.

But after talking to my dad, I'll probably just skip that test for now and schedule the appointment; the rheumatologist will probably order another round of blood tests and I don't feel like getting poked with a needle more than I have to.

None of this actually rules out autoimmune diseases, though. When we googled reasons for a WBC count being low, a myriad of results came to light, including: autoimmune diseases, cancer, and thyroid problems (leave it to me to remember only the most dramatic ones). BUT, in all this googling, we learned that a 3.5 is really on the border of being a low count, so it may not be as dramatic as it first sounds.

Cue the ability to breath again.
